Dick Forrest RIP

Dick Forrest RIP

It is with deep regret that we announce the death of Dick Forrest, beloved husband of our Hon Director Maureen Forrest.

The Hope Foundation will be forever indebted to Dick. His kindness and support of Maureen’s work as our volunteer CEO over the past 20 years was a testament to his great heart. He was always in the background supporting the mission of HOPE and Maureen when she spent time in Kolkata. We know that his sacrifices ensured the success of the organisation. Dick will always be a hero to all of us at HOPE. A wonderful man, adored by his beautiful family, he will be sadly missed every day. On behalf of HOPE and the children we serve, we thank you Dick and we will always carry your big heart with ours.

Dick died peacefully in the presence of his adoring family in the Mercy University Hospital, Cork after a very short illness, cared for by his daughter-law Michelle.

Beloved husband of Maureen (nee Browne) and devoted son of Maureen and the late Robin. Adored father of Robin, Louise, Ricky and the late baby Bobby. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, mother, children, daughters-in-law, son-in-law, grandchildren, sisters Anne, Ger and Noelle, sisters & brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, his Godmother Elizabeth Binchy, relatives, neighbours and his large circle of friends.

Reposing at his home in Deerpark from 3pm to 7pm on Monday March 12th. House family only Tuesday morning by request. Reception into the Sacred Heart Church, Mogeely on Tuesday March 13th for Requiem Mass at 230pm. Burial afterwards in the Old Cemetery, Mogeely.

Family flowers only. Donations in lieu to the Hope Foundation (https://www.hopeshop.ie/quick-donate/).

“Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together”

Rest in Peace Dick,

As a mark of respect our offices in Dublin, Limerick and Cork will be closed tomorrow.
