HOPE’s Development Education in Secondary Schools

HOPE's Development Education in Secondary Schools

The Hope Foundation believes ‘Education is the greatest gift that you can give a child.’ For many years, we have been working with secondary schools across Ireland through their Development Education programmes and believe that this is one of the best ways of raising awareness of the terrible plight of street children in Kolkata. This is a programme that is driven by the strong belief of ‘Students helping Students’ since HOPE began working with secondary students in 2003. Understanding and witnessing the reality of poverty inspires young people to take action for change, and helps create ambassadors of HOPE who will reach out to young people far less fortunate and help to take real steps to a better, more fair world. There are a number of ways in which secondary students, teachers and schools can get involved in The Hope Foundation’s Development Education Programmes including:
– School Talks

– CSPE Projects

– TY Immersion Programmes

– Mini Company

– Young Social Innovator (YSI)

– General Fundraising Ideas
