Emergency Response Update

[vc_row margin_top=”20″][vc_column][vc_column_text]For over a month now the HOPE Emergency Response teams have been distributing food supplies to the street and slum population of Kolkata. Most of these people are migrant labourers, daily wage earners, and street beggars who have no savings to sustain themselves during the lockdown period. We have recently expanded our operations to include rural areas of Bengal and we now have a dedicated Emergency Response Team that is reaching out to as many villages as they can to distribute lifesaving provisions.

Due to all your generous donations more than 8,500 families have received supplies and managed to stay in quarantine to stop the spread of the virus. That is approximately 40,000 people who would otherwise have nothing to eat. We have also distributed sanitation kits to 800 families.

Your support is truly helping us stave off starvation and we really appreciate your support.

Our Projects

Our hospital continues to operate fully while also combating the COVID-19 crisis. The nurses are unable to return home after work so they are staying in the hospital and helping to prepare the food packs for distribution.

Our protection homes remain open. We have 261 children currently supported by our 11 protection homes in Kolkata. We have to make sure that these children stay protected during this time – they have nowhere else to go. HOPE is their family.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][TS_VCSC_Lightbox_Gallery content_images=”43532,43533,43534,43535,43536,43537,43538″ el_file1=”” el_file2=”” data_grid_preloader=”-1″][/TS_VCSC_Lightbox_Gallery][/vc_column][/vc_row]
